Collective mind
Internet as shared working memory. Not a hive-mind occult. A medium in which looking becomes public.

See on the treeIf one skull is a vat, many skulls plus a network are a larger vat. Memes, science, markets, and panics all move through it. Calling that a collective consciousness is a metaphor that sometimes earns its keep and sometimes inflates.
The documented relationship is milder and stronger: the internet is the first time a civilization’s working memory is almost simultaneously readable by its members. X is one of the loud rooms. On 10 October 2023 he named the hope in public: if successful, X will evolve to be the collective consciousness of humanity, or more accurately the human-machine collective.
Jung’s collective unconscious is a different object: inherited form, not a protocol. It hangs on the myth branch. Do not fuse them to make a prettier diagram.
